Press Release: Launch of the first Entrepreneurship Peer-Learning Campus in Germany – A disruptive educational innovation

Berlin, [September 20, 2024] – On October 12, the Entrepreneurship Foundation will set a powerful accent in the German educational landscape with the introduction of its flagship offering – the Entrepreneurship Peer Learning Campus. The initiative is based on the pioneering work of Prof. Dr. Günter Faltin, who has been one of the first in Germany to establish the concept of entrepreneurship education and promotion for over 40 years Prof. Faltin, founder of the Entrepreneurship Foundation, has made a name for himself through his books and numerous company start-ups, creating the basis for a new generation of people who think and act entrepreneurially.

The Entrepreneurship Peer Learning Campus offers an educational platform that enables students of any age to discover their personal strengths and individual profile in order to develop their life plan The special thing about this platform is its extraordinary scalability: it offers a collaborative, individually designed learning experience that works for both a hundred and a hundred thousand students. Through innovative peer learning pedagogy, people of all ages and backgrounds can learn at their own pace while benefiting from the power of a supportive community.

With Prof. Dr. Max Senges, the foundation has gained a leading expert in the field of peer learning Prof. Senges, who completed his doctorate under Prof. Faltin on the philosophy of entrepreneurship and knowledge entrepreneurship and worked for over a decade as an intrapreneur for Google in Berlin and Silicon Valley, brings his experience as the founding CEO of the peer-learning universities for software developers, 42 Berlin and 42 Wolfsburg, as well as his expertise as a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of the Arts, to this forward-looking project.

Why the Entrepreneurship Peer Learning Campus? Our society needs responsible citizens and responsible entrepreneurs. In the traditional education system, you learn math, biology and even Chinese, but not how to develop a life plan that leads to a successful life. The Entrepreneurship Peer Learning Campus offers a unique space to find answers to central life questions in a scientifically sound and dogma-free way: Who am I, who do I want to become and how do I get there? Here, students find their place in an authentic and optimistic community and discover their path to a self-determined life – and thus also their role in society.

What does the Entrepreneurship Peer-Learning Campus offer?

  • The program consists of a series of peer-learning projects in which students gradually distill their initial idea, building on their strengths, to develop an entrepreneurial design that suits them perfectly, is economically viable and at the same time has a good ecological footprint.
Participants explore the concepts and practices independently and together with their peers, without traditional professors, trainers, lectures or exams.
  • The peer learning program can be conducted 100% online; personal exchange at community meetings and physical sessions in learning groups can be a valuable addition to the learning journey and are encouraged
  • If the program is undertaken part-time alongside a job or studies, a duration of 6 months to a year can be expected.
  • Participation in the program costs €50 for every 6 months. Alumni can continue to use the community and platform for free.
  • Interested parties can then become part of the first cohort of students from the kick-off on November 30. Registration for the program and for information evenings is possible here.

Launch at the Entrepreneurship Summit on October 12-13: The launch of the Entrepreneurship Peer-Learning Campus will be part of the Entrepreneurship Summit. There, all interested parties can delve deeply into the world of concept-creative entrepreneurship. At the Summit, more than 1000 participants will meet to network with leading experts and like-minded people, discover new paths and realize their ideas

Prof. Faltin describes the foundation's new venture as follows: “With the Peer Learning Campus, the Foundation for Entrepreneurship is ushering in a new era of entrepreneurship education and #LearningToLive”.

Functional advantages of the platform:

  1. Development of an individual life plan: learners understand their strengths and develop their #life venture from them
  2. Self-organization and learning: They learn the most effective methods for self-organization and develop their own learning ability, i.e. how they can learn anything (#LernenLernen).
  3. Building a professional network: An integral part of the platform is building a network that provides honest feedback on entrepreneurial solutions and opportunities for collaboration.
  4. The learning platform is accessible to everyone, including those without a high school diploma, vocational training or many years of professional experience. People of all ages and from a wide range of backgrounds can learn how to shape their lives entrepreneurially here.
  5. Collaborate and grow: Students work with their fellow students on learning projects, present and discuss them with their peers, and receive valuable feedback in the process. They learn how to work together cooperatively.
  6. Internet native: the Entrepreneurship Peer Learning Campus meets learners where they are in their search and where they are oriented on the internet; this allows learners to work on their interests and learning projects in a personalized way The approach thus breaks with the pedagogical tradition of “teaching”, but instead puts learning and learners at the center. The learning environment is therefore an internet-based approach that starts from the reality of the digital space and not from pedagogical wishful thinking.
